This is a time they rest with soothing Music, or the sounds of nature. Older children may read books from 1:00- 2:30. There is no talking or playing at this time. Most of the children do fall asleep. I do not have a T.V. In the child care area, I do not use one as a babysitter.
I do for see some time in the future maybe rewarding the children with a movie and popcorn.
I also comply with the SIDS recommendations, which does change periodically.
Parents Please provide a special blanket or some form of security during Quiet time.
Children fewer than 24 months will not have a set nap time as they sleep and wake when its their own time. Infants & toddlers usually have 2 nap times in a day on their own schedule.
Toilet Training: is a very special time, I will be happy to assist with the training that the parents started at home first, I will be working with you in the training process. Please let me know what best works for your child, so I can incorporate your tactics in the training. Since potty training can be messy you will need to supply a box of baby wipes and extra clothes. Remember I cant do all the work, parents need to do their part or the child wont want to be potty trained.
Illness:
PLEASE KEEP CHILDREN HOME IF:::::::
1. Green mucous discharge from eyes or nose
2. Diarrhea (that is associated with illness)
3. Fever over 100 degrees
4. Puking within 24 hours
5. Any other contagious illness or rash.
6. Lice or nits (check your child's hair monthly)
7. If your child is lethargic and looks sick please keep them home.
If your child shows any signs of any illness I will call parents A.S.A.P. TO
PICK UP THEIR CHILD. I know the difference between teething and being sick, I have no problem watching teething children, I also realize that some children have allergies.
If a parent brings their children to child care sick, then I get sick and have to close my child care for maybe days, my husband will get sick and miss his work, my kids will get sick and miss school. My other child care kids will be sick, then their parents, then everybodys missing work. So its very Important to keep them home, If you need to work find a back up provider who will watch your child if their sick.
HEALTHY CHILDREN ONLY PLEASE!
Medical Emergencies: in the event of a Serious medical emergency I will:
Call 911
Administer first aid or CPR
Contact parents or emergency contacts
I may have to have your child transported to the Hospital by ambulance.
By law: I can not administer any prescribed medication without a Doctors note saying when to administer, how much, and the bottle has to be labeled. If the medicine is over the counter I want a letter from parents saying the same.
I even need a signed form from you if you want me to use Desitin or any diaper rash ointment.
Disaster Plan:
In the unlikely event of a natural disaster I will be prepared with a 3 day supply of food and water and all other essentials in a disaster plan kit.
Religious practices:
Your children will be exposed to Christian beliefs, Bible songs, books, arts and crafts, and Holiday celebrations. If you are uneasy of my religion then my child care may not be for you. I will not force my beliefs on your children by no means. I respect all religions and beliefs and cultures, Out of respect I also include childrens books and materials and arts and crafts on other religions and cultures as well.
Child abuse reporting:
By Law I am required to report any suspected child abuse or neglect.
I will not discriminate against any child or adult in child care based on race, creed, color, national origin, religion, disability, or marital or veteran status of the child or family members.
I will: Periodically send home Newsletters, Letters, documents, & child-care info., so please read them or you may miss out on very important information, Such as closures? Please also check your childrens Locker Cubbies daily.
Sign in sheet:
It is also very important that you sign your children In/out with child's full name and parents full signature. This helps me keep up to date records that are mandatory for my job. I will remind parents to do so if they forget. Hopefully you will get in the habit of doing this.
I am not responsible for
lost or damaged property your child brings to my home. If you are worried about your childrens property please then just leave toys etc. at home. . I also have a small cubbies /lockers for their belongings.
We use good words in my child care home so if your child comes home saying not so nice words then thats unfortunate and I am not responsible for any language your children may pick up at my home. I do Not allow bad language, and will address the issue with child and parents if this happens.
Animals:
I have 1 Cat., 3 puppies. They are up to date on all their shots.

Some of my Rules may sound a little foolish but I have to make sure to incorporate
The state Licensing rules as well. It's Just another Mandatory Rule That I also need to abide by.
If you have any questions or concerns, please dont hesitate to ask me. This avoids any conflict, misunderstandings or hurt feelings. I am a very open and honest person.
I would love to visit with you at Pick up time If I can. You are welcome to have a conference with me at any time I am available or call during decent hours. Usually after 8 p.m. I'm done with my day and wont be available.
